Jayne Cowell - Psychologist & Managing Director
Jayne is a registered Psychologist with over 10 years experience working in both Australia and the United Kingdom. She has worked in hospitals, not-for-profit organisations, private clinics and has extensive experience working within schools. She is passionate about mental health, well-being and supporting individuals to reach a place of peace and empowerment. She understands the courage it takes to ask for help and wants all her clients to feel understood and supported.
Jayne believes in the importance of fostering a strong relationship with clients that is based on mutual trust and understanding. She believes that each individual needs a therapeutic approach that is tailored to their specific psychological needs. Jayne believes in a strength-based approach to therapy. When supporting children and teenagers, and their families, Jayne ensures she regularly communicates with other supportive people in the young person’s life, including: parents, teachers and schools.
Most of Jayne’s therapeutic work is grounded in positive psychology theory. Jayne also utilises strategies from Cognitive-behavioural Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Education & Support
Jayne is passionate about taking a proactive approach to mental health and wants to promote this by providing blog posts, workshops, and information sessions to parents and families. Specifically, Jayne wants to support parents and carers in managing their children’s anxiety, academic well-being, sleep, relationships and many more interesting topics!
